We'd like you to meet the staff of Delaware Family
Center...
- Diana
H. Terrell, Ph.D.
Dr. Diana Terrell is a Psychologist and Co-director of Delaware Family
Center, which she founded in 1984. She received her B.A. and M.Ed. from the
University of Delaware and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Temple
University. In her clinical practice, Dr. Terrell works primarily with children
coping with learning, behavioral and emotional problems, as well as with their
families. She has extensive experience with parents involved with separation,
divorce and adaptation to new family structures. She is a consultant to several
local schools, providing evaluations, consultation and psychotherapy for their
students. Dr. Terrell frequently provides expert testimony in custody cases
pending in the Family Court of the State of Delaware.
Dr. Terrell also focuses her practice on the psychological aspects of
disease, helping patients manage their illnesses. For fifteen years she was
Director of Behavioral Medicine at the St Francis Family Practice Residency
Program where she taught physicians in training about the psychological aspects
of illness and recovery.
In working with clients, Dr. Terrell uses an action-focused approach,
encouraging individuals and families to think about problems differently,
initiate new solutions and develop new relationship patterns.

- Wesley
R. Bowman, Ph.D.

Dr. Bowman is a Psychologist and co-director of Delaware Family Center in
Wilmington. He works with adolescents, adults, couples and families dealing with
issues of depression, anxiety, substance disorders and relationship problems.
Over the past 17 years, he has worked with businesses and organizations in a
training, consulting and counseling role.
Dr. Bowman is past president of the Delaware Psychological Association. He
is a contributing editor in the 2001 health encyclopedia publication, Human
Diseases and Conditions, Behavioral Health and the NIMH publication, Assessment
of Adolescent Substance Abuse. He has also authored a number of articles for
corporate newsletters and health websites on topics related to wellness,
stress-management, substance disorders and relationships.
Dr. Bowman lives in Hockessin, Delaware with his wife and two daughters. His
personal interests include cycling, skiing, music, and writing.

Robin Redman-Brown, LPCMH
Robin Redman-Brown is a licensed, board certified, mental health counselor. After working 21 years in human resources, she left the corporate arena to pursue her passion for a career in the mental health field. Robin received a masters degree in Community Counseling from Wilmington University in 2001. Her experience is in working with children, adolescents and adults in individual, couples (including gay and lesbian couples) and family therapy. Robin’s interests are in the areas of sexual abuse, trauma, foster care and adoption issues, relationships, depression, anxiety and grief/loss.
Robin uses a cognitive-behavioral and client centered approach. She also uses EMDR in the treatment of single and complex trauma. Robin strongly believes that given the appropriate tools, clients are empowered and motivated toward the completion of their own healing.

Aaron Alfano, PsyD
Dr. Aaron Alfano is a Psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. He received his B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh and his M.A. and PsyD from Widener University. He has written on the topic of integrating mindfulness techniques in the treatment of ADHD.
Dr. Alfano is a member of the Delaware Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Association. He is also a Pennsylvania Certified School Psychologist. In addition to providing psychotherapy, Dr. Alfano has an interest in psychological assessment and assessment of learning disabilities. He believes forming a strong relationship with clients is the basis for promoting lasting, meaningful change in behaviors.
Dr. Alfano lives in Wilmington with his wife. His personal interests include skiing, marathon running, and working with his German Shepherd Dogs.

- Mary W. Davis, LPC

Mary W. Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has worked for 25 years in the field of mental health. She is bi-lingual (Spanish) and offers mental health services in both languages with cultural insight. She works with adults in the areas of personal growth, depression, abuse, seasonal affective disorder and alcohol and drug recovery. She also specializes in the treatment of those affected by domestic violence. In her therapeutic work she helps clients view their lives and situations in a bigger context in order to promote positive change for themselves. She has an eclectic style of therapy drawing from Rogerian, Adlerian and Reality theoretical models. In 2008 the Delaware Domestic Violence Coordinating Council awarded her the Distinguished Service Award and in 2010 the Outstanding Community Service Award. In her free time Mary enjoys being outside, hiking and sailing on the Delaware River and learning about other cultures. She is married and has two grown sons.

Emily Crawford, Ph.D.
Dr. Emily Crawford is a psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Bucknell University, an M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. She trained for a year at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh before completing residency at the A.I. duPont Hospital for Children (AIDHC). Most recently, she completed a two-year fellowship during which time she worked at AIDHC and at the First State School, a school for children and adolescents managing chronic illness that is housed within Christiana Care.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Crawford works with children and adolescents coping with a variety of emotional and behavioral difficulties and their families. She has a particular interest in treating children with chronic illness and their families for assistance with adherence issues and/or adjustment to illness or wellness. She also has extensive experience in child and adolescent psychological assessment. In practice, she primarily utilizes a cognitive-behavioral and/or behavioral approach within a family systems perspective.

Dawn Bowman, M.A., P.A.
Dawn Bowman, M.A., P.A. is a therapist and Psychological Assistant with a Masters’ Degree from the University of Delaware in School Psychology. She worked for 7 years at Terry Children’s Psychiatric Hospital as a child and family therapist providing psychological/educational testing services, psychotherapy and school liaison services for transitioning children in and out of the hospital. Dawn also has 18 years experience as a mother of two. Dawn is very involved in the community having served as parent-coach for Odyssey of the Mind, board member for her church, and youth Sunday school teacher. Here at Delaware Family Center, she works with children, adolescents, parents and individual adult clients on issues such as anxiety, depression, academic challenges, parent-child relationships and other behavioral-emotional concerns.
